Is Amazon a good place to buy a camera?

There is a camera I want and it seems to be a lot cheaper on amazon. I've never bought anything other than books from amazon (i never really cared if they were in good condition) so I was wondering if it was a good idea to buy electronics from amazon, like has anyone had any problems with their purchase etc.? I'm just a little weary because it's quite a bit cheaper than if I were to buy it at best buy/costco/frye's and I'm not sure the reason for that. any info will be helpful :) TIA!
