How do I make a camera?

How do I make my computer recognize my camera (Kodak Easyshare Z740)?

  • I have a Kodak Easyshare Z 740 and I want to transfer pictures from my computer back to the camera. When I plug in the camera I can pull up the camera's software and transfer pictures to the computer but "My Computer" doesn't recognize my camera as an external devise, so I can't drag files to it. I've read other questions similar to this that recommend reinstalling the camera software but since this software still recognizes the camera I'm not convinced this will help. I connect my camera using a USB cable that came with it, I don't have or use an SD card reader. My computer is a laptop and runs on Windows XP. Is there any way I can program my computer to recognize the camera again, is there somewhere other than "My Computer" to find the camera, or is there anything I can do at all? If you have a camera similar to mine, maybe you could describe the process you see when you plug in your camera, perhaps I'm just overlooking something. Thanks.

  • Answer:

your best bet is to take memory card out and insert into a card reader via a usb cable. you can also download easyshare software,if you take any videos using your camera, you will need to download apple quicktime to veiw and edit them(free download)get a sd card,it will make things alot easier for you.
