The pictures on my Dsi SD card won't delete!?

I'm trying to delete the pictures on my DSI SD card but it won't work. I went to "other" on the menu and tried deleting but that didn't work and I don't know why. I put the SD card on the computer and deleted the pictures but when I put it back on the DSI the pictures were still there. I tried deleting them individually but that didn't work either...Can someone help me out please?
