What is the best digital camera to buy? ?

I'm not sure what country you are in, so prices may vary. But the better brands are typically Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony. At least in the last 2 years. Nikon has been slipping away from that list. Simply because of their low light/night time photo capabilities for simple users. Canon, Panasonic and Sony are doing some amazing things with their cameras. So I would suggest those brands, but depending on what features you want, there are dozens of models to choose from. I'll just say figure out how much zoom lens you want, what kind of size of camera you want, and from there you can figure out a much smaller list of models.
