• Is there someway to make a blank slide out of an old photo slide by wiping it with something to take photo off and then writing on it? We want to make label slides( ie. subject and date) for each group of slides in a slide show.

  There are companies out there who specialize in printing slide from digital files. The price for a single slide is a bit steep, typically around $4 per slide, however the price per slide goes down quite a bit as you order more slides(even if they're different). You can submit either an image file, which could possibly be a scan of a hand-drawn title, a text file, or a Powerpoint slide. The emulsion adheres pretty tightly to the base-it's really difficult to get it off without also severely damaging the base. Trust me, I've done it plenty of times. ____ To add to what Terisu mentions, at one time, when slide shows were more popular, there were special films made just for this sort of application. Typically they were either a standard black and white or color film negative film emulsion on a clear base. These would, of course, give a negative image of what was being photographed, however they typically would look pretty good since there was no gray or orange mask obscuring the image. Unfortunately, these are all long since gone withe the exception of printing films made for the movie industry. I have a roll of "Kodak Title Slide Film"(a black and white film) as well as "Kodak Vericolor Slide Film"(a color negative film for make slides from color negatives) stashed back in my freezer.
