What's a nice digital camera 200 and under?

Whats the best digital camera for under $200?

  • I want to use it mainly for landscapes and really close macros. Right now I have a Canon PowerShot A60 but it only has 2MP I want something with a lot more MP. Please help!

    The price really is a limiting factor here. I would recommend looking at the Canon PowerShot A570 IS, which is $170 at Amazon. 7.1MP, 4X optical zoom, plus it has image stabilization, which will help with camera shake and could allow you to shoot in lower light situations without a flash. I suggest sticking with Canon because you are already used to the buttons, menus, and modes. The A710 IS might be of interest to you as well, but it could be hard to find because it has been succeeded by the A720 IS. You might be able to get a bargain on the 710 though. I myself have an A70 and plan on moving up to either an A650 IS, A720 IS, or SX100 IS next month. However, the cheapest one of those is the A720 at $250.

You can explore Samsung, they have one model which cost $199 for 7MP. (If i remember correctly) Go down to comex or Courts/ Harvey to take a look. Not bad.

Sony DSC - 5Megapixel - with alot of options and manual settings or automatic if yuo wish. It was $500 3 years ago, and it is aruond $200 now. Get it - I love mine.

canon a570 I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice. The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras and learn as much as they can from the internet. Go to the store and hold them and try them to see what they feel like and how they take pictures. I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera. there is a new kodak easy share but i have the c530 from walgreens for 100 which included the chip, the batteries, the cable for computer hookup and they gave me extra batteries with the battery charger(kodak rechargeable only, trust me) they always have good stuff. It is a 5.0 mega pixel but for emailing pics use at around 3.0. There are too man pixels for 5.0 for many computers. enjoy. Also i did download the new messenger 8.1 and still did not see a way for the cam or voice useage. laila1255/lailacareer
