How to upload pictures from my Sony Cybershot?

Sony cybershot won't upload pictures?

i have the usb port and i plugged it into my dell laptop. no program popped up. so i put in the cd and installed the pmb. its not uploading pictures from my camera. whats wrong? how do i upload the photos from my camera to my laptop?? I don't have a memory card slot on my computer.
Answer:

Did you turn on your camera? With the USB cords attached. First press the ">" button to turn on your camera and then you can start the "PMB Guide" or it will turn on automatically at this point. It did for me the first time. Then you can start importing. Good luck.
