Canon | Canon Digital Camera | Canon Powershot | Canon EOS?

Um, it's called advertising. I'm also a Canon fan, but other lines of cameras have fans, too - Nikon being chief among them. You just happen to be surrounded by Canon fans, that's all.

The idea of Canon being the 'best in the world is down to particular preferences, mostly from the professional angle. Canon (in a collaboration with Kodak) were the first company to introduce a 'full frame' digital SLR. By 'full frame' I refer to the sensor size being equal or close to' the size of a 35mm negative (36 x 24 mm). Nikon have, until recently, held back from this idea, and to my mind they have still not addressed my needs of a lower ISO sensitivity of 100 ISO of around 50. I was a Canon user up until the introduction of their EOS (eye operated system) method of focussing, and so moved over to Nikon who have maintained the same lens fitting from origins. Canon changed all their lens fittings to accommodate the EOS system, and thus rendered all my Canon FD lenses obsolete. This is not to say that I wouldn't go back to Canon, but I'm hoping that Nikon will listen to their buyers and increase the ISO sensitivity range of their pro cameras. A week before Christmas I went to my local camera store because I know there will be used Nikon's, traded in for D300. There were two D200 and a D70s plus two Canon's were also traded in for the Nikon D300. Two days before Christmas all three Nikon's where sold, but the two Canon's where still their, last Saturday I went to the same store and the Canon's are still there, so if Canon is the best how come the Canon never sold?

In the small camera realm it's a cross between Canon and Sony in the SLR realm is Canon and Nikon It comes from magazine reviews and consumer satisfaction. I personally have seen the lowest instance of failure in both Sony and Canon, but not by that much.

i don't listen to some people it is all what you want and need. Some cameras are better then others but you may need something that the camera have then the other. Speed MB, start up time, storage, there are all kinds of questions. it is what you need and want.
