Why is my video choppy in Adobe Premiere Pro?

What are the best settings for YouTube 1080p video in Adobe Premiere Pro 5.x?

  • I shot some video with my Canon EOS Rebel T3i. The following are the specs for my input video: 1920x1080, 29.97 fps, Progressive, 48 KHz, Stereo I've got Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5 (just upgraded from 5.0), but the settings for the H.264 preset for YouTube Widescreen HD are for 1280x720, and, presumably, all of the other settings (such as video bitrates) are also designed for this resolution. If I wanted to create my own preset for the best encode for a 1080p video suitable for YouTube, which settings should I use?

  • Answer:

Just use the H.264 preset HDTV 1080p 29.97 High Quality preset (or 24/25 depending on your fps). If you want to lower the file size from that you can lower the bit rate and audio but use that preset as your base.
