Clean my camera lens, best lens cleaner, dry or wet? etc.?
-
I have a Sony DSC-P200, the lens is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Since it is a small lens, I was wondering what to use on it, any recommendations or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answer:
Don't clean it unless absolutely necessary. Most people tend to make the mess worse. However, to clean it use a Q tip. Take a lens cleaning (aqueous solution) fluid (available at camera stores) and put some on a q tip. Then very gently, starting at the center and with no pressure, spiral out to the edge of the lens. Avoid touching the metal if possible. Before it dries repeat with a dry Q tip. If this doesn't work well enough repeat using isopropyl alcohol. Do not use acetone as this will dissolve cements used to hold the lens in place and deposit them on the lens surface.
