What is a portable canon bjc-80?

Which is your Canon DSLR camera choice?

  • If you had to choose between these three camera kits which would you choose and why? They are all in the same relative price range and offer somewhat similar lenses and features. Im trying to decide which one i want to eventually get; 1. Canon 60D with Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II, Canon Normal EF 50mm f/1.8 II, Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS http://www.amazon.com/Canon-EOS-DSLR-Camera-lenses/dp/B005J4XVSA/ref=sr_1_34?ie=UTF8&qid=1323307113&sr=8-34 2. Canon T3i with Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS, Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS, Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II http://www.amazon.com/Canon-DSLR-Camera-Lens-Pack/dp/B005IR3BEM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=ITUQDNIRA8DV&colid=U1JQ5132G35A 3. Canon 7D with 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens http://www.amazon.com/Canon-EOS-7D-28-135mm-Standard/dp/B002NEGTU6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2S0QKGKD970Z2&colid=U1JQ5132G35A TY! :D

  • Answer:

Depends on your skill and what you want out of it. I would take 7D without any second thoughts since I am a working professional and make a lot of videos and that one has 60fps and good quality which is similar to 5d Mark II which is the one I am using right now. It is only one lens but 28-135 is a good all around lens and you got the IS which gives you the opportunity to take good shots even though it's dark and you have a shaky hand. The EF 50mm f/1.8 is one of my favorite lenses but the 18-55 kind of sucks in my opinion but as I said, it depends on what you will use it for and how much money you want to spend.

I have owned the Canon T3i and now the 60D. I would definately recommend the 60D over the T3i for several features. I enjoy the faster shutter speed especially for my kids sporting events. The 60D also has video capabilities. The lens you have mentioned are good lens and I own all of these. I would recommend the 60D over the 7D mostly because you can get them relatively at the same price but the 60D you can also include several lens. The 28-135 offers a broad range of zoom but the 55-250 creates crisper pictures. I use all of these lens for my real estate website at www.jimmywelch.com.

I would personally choose the 60D all three of those cameras have pretty much the exact same sensor, and therefore, have the same performance. However, In my opinion, the T3i's ergonomics suck. the 60D has much better ergonomics as well as a second scroll wheel which makes handling the camera a lot nicer. The 7D has full weather sealing and 8fps shooting, however, unless you absolutely need it, the performance does not justify the cost. of course, that is what I would do.

The 28-135mm lens isn't as good as the 18-135mm, so if you go with the 7D get it with that one. But you don't need the 7D, if you would you would already know it ;) 60D is the best as it a bit of both. Here's a DSLR Buying Guide - http://www.the-dslr-photographer.com/2009/11/which-dslr-to-buy/

For my pro work, I use a 5D Mk II and a T2i. I have avoided the Canon "mid-range" DSLRs (40D, 60D, 7D, etc.) ever since I sold my 20D, simply because they don't offer nearly enough over the Rebel models to justify their extra cost. I've had 3 Rebels (the original/300D, Xti, and T2i), and all were rugged, handled daily pro use just fine, and lasted many years (well, I've only had the T2i 6 months or so, but no problems). Frankly, you'll do much better getting the T3i and spending the extra money on good lenses than you will with either the 7D or 60D and mediocre lenses. That's what I'd suggest. Peace. edit: note to several above: the T3i does full 1080p video at 60fps, just like the 7D. And the 60D does not have "faster shutter speeds" than the T3i. It has a higher burst rate, but not much higher...and if you're "spraying and praying" when shooting sports, you need more practice.
