What's a cheap digital camcorder with good audio?

Should I buy a digital video camera or a digital camcorder? Whats the difference?

  • I plan to record videos indoors(which means I need a camera/camcorder that works good indoors and has good lighting).I plan to upload the videos I record onto youtube, but I'm confused about something..whats the difference between a digital video camera and a digital camcorder? Which one should I buy?

  • Answer:

Nothing! Just do your research on which individual model you would like to get. You will most likely want to get a nice HD camera!

Well there is no diff. from the two and for you tube and indoor kind of stuff i would recommend buying this bundle With a nice Kodak pocket vid cam and a tripod and a remote for $150US http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-Rechargeable-Battery-KLIC-7004-Control/dp/B004FG89A8/ref=sr_1_16?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1292820269&sr=1-16 I don't understand what your talking about a camera with good lighting the lighting depends on how your filming area is set up. Cameras can't give you much better lighting. Though you could spend 1,200 on a lighting booth but its not worth it just flip your switch on. Or if you meant you have good lighting then I just explained something to you that I didn't need to.

I agree you should get a flip. It should be perfect quality for indoors as long as you don't have lots of quick movements and you can increase the amount of light in the room to be enough. If you get a camera with a light attached it will be a lot more expensive. If you have lots of movement you should get a better video camera than a little pocket camera. I have a Kodak Playsport it is great with lots of light. Best for outdoors. Flip is better for indoors and less motion.

I would consider Flip UltraHD Video Camera - Black, 8 GB, 2 Hours (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL Shoot up to 2 hours of better-than-ever HD video on the easy-to-use, now even slimmer UltraHD Press the big red button to start capturing vibrant HD video (720p / 60fps) on the super-simple user interface Keep your video steady with image stabilization, UltraHD's newest feature Connect the built-in USB arm to your PC or Mac to launch pre-loaded FlipShare software Organize, create and share your videos with FlipShare software

They're the same thing. It's just a different name. Now, most digital cameras also record video, but that's not what you want. The term digital camcorder is more common so search on that term. Here's the cnet reviews. http://reviews.cnet.com/camcorders/

Once you figure out which one you want to get, check out digitalimaginghq.com. They have by far, in my opinion, the best prices and service. I am very pleased with them and have bought 2 cameras so from them. Highly recommend!!
