I was looking at buying a Nikon D3000 Camera? Is it worth it?

Nikon D3000 is a Great entry level DSLR camera. It's good for beginner or photography classes

If you can afford it get the kit that comes with a couple of lenses. Costco has it pretty cheap. That way even if you outgrow the camera body, the lenses can go with what ever Nikon you buy next.

I would go with a nikon d4o but that is just my opinion

Yes, that's a fine camera. Don't worry about buying other lenses right now. Just get the kit lens, and focus on learning how to use the camera.

It is a good entry level camera for sure. For the price and with the specs it should be more than enough for you. I found it on Amazon and you can read the reviews of the many other happy customers there who have bought it. Now I would rather myself get a Canon Rebel. It is the 2nd link in my source.
