Send Pictures via E Mail easily?

I'm trying to send digital pictures via e-mail, but they are comig out HUGE to the recipients, what's wrong?

  • I can "compact" the pictures to send, but then they come out too small - I just want the e-mail recipients to view them like I do- normal size!

  • Answer:

The recipient is viewing the picture at 100%. That way, a 2400x1600 pixel photograph, viewed at a screen resolution of 800x600, would indeed be 3 screens wide. Their viewing software should have a setting to resize pictures to 'fit screen'. Alternatively, you could reduce the pixel size of your pictures to ensure they're, eh... idiot-proof. Make them about 750 pixels wide and let your program work out the correct height by locking the aspect ratio.

There must be an in between setting. It sounds like it's on your hightest setting.

Use Photo Bucket or other picture sharing sites. When you email photos, it is compressed for faster sending. However there is a choice to retain the original megapixel and size of the picture you send, but it will take a lot of time to send it.

The settings on the camera are set to take the size picture you desire. Change settings on your camera

you have different pixel settings on your PC and yours and theirs may be diff. Try changing the picture size to 600 pixels high and it will be fine.

Your software is different than theirs. If they look at the photo with their email program, it will look much larger. If they save the attachment and look at the photo using windows, the photo will be normal size. If you want the photo to be smaller in their email program, you will have to reduce the size of the photo before sending it. Reducing the size will also reduce the time to send the photos and it takes up less space in their mailbox.

Edit them in Photoshop..! In the menu, Click 'Image' > 'Image size'. U'll find a new window where u can adjust the image sizes to custom options. Try it and send them! Note: 1. Keep the original and work on a copy 2. Set Resolution close to 100 (like 72, 90, 100, 110...) preferably!

When I checked with some digital picures taken from digital cameras the size varied from 500+KB - 1MB and above. So better zip it or bring down the size of file by reducing the display size. I have found more information at http://tinyurl.com/nnv9f on how email works and how to troubleshoot email related problems.
