Looking to buy a new camera...which of these do you think is the best?

Depending on how serious you are about photography, I recommend spending more than $200 to purchase a Canon G8. The G8 has just about everything a basic digital SLR has - including RAW capabilities (very important for quality images), Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual, Auto/Program Mode, etc. It has a quality Canon zoom lens, too. The features are many - and it is my favorite non-SLR digital camera. I liked the G6 too - but avoid the G7 as it is missing some important features like RAW.

you cant go wrong with canon. every camera i have ever had has been a canon and i have never had a problem with them. you should read customer reviews on the cameras at amazon.com, bestbuy.com, or circuitcity.com. good luck!

A570 is far better than the others, it's the only one with IS - very useful !!! Don't hesitate and take it, it's an excellent camera !

I don't see any Nikons on your list and that's really the only other camera system that can compare with Canon so scratch everything from your list except the Canons. You've got a group of good-quality canons listed here and any of the group will do nice pictures for you. All of the cameras you have chosen include an optical viewfinder is and that is a very important feature to have on any point-and-shoot type camera. You should never buy a point-and-shoot which only has an LCD monitor. My personal selection out of this group would be the 570IS. Image stabilization is not magic, but I will often help you take a lowlight picture that otherwise would be blurred due to camera movement. Under low light conditions be sure you use the optical viewfinder and have the camera held against your eye using both hands. This is one of the most stable ways to hold the camera and with image stabilization you can get some pretty nice low light level pictures. Hope this helps you make your camera selection.
