What is the best still camera for hd video?

  • Will be using mostly indoors in dance studios and rooms for short video clips Looking for all these features: 1. Compact camera for travel 2. Sharp wide angle, mega zoom is not a priority 3. Excellent high resolution stills 4. Excellent hd video 5. Good in low light such as a dance studio or nightclub 6. Ability to edit video inside the camera to chop off beginning and end of clip. Sometimes I start recording, then I hand the camera to somebody else unfamiliar with the camera to take the clip, camera still running, when done, I walk back and take the camera, still recording, shut off recording. I need to cut beginning and end of clip when done so I dont waste a lot of space on my camera and on my computer. Give me your best opinion. Willing to pay the price for a good camera.

Go for Canon G12 This camera is like a SLR camera without the bulk and heaviness. It has manual, semi and fully automatic settings. But as any point and shoot, it struggles to take descent photos indoor.
