What is the best sd memory card?

What is the difference between a Class 4 SD memory card and a regular SD memory card?

  • I asked before why my camera (it's a Fujifilm Finepix S1800) had horrible video quality and had a static noise in the background and one of the answers I got was that the memory card should at least be a Class 4 or higher. I use a regular SanDisk 1 GB SD memory card. It has no Class number on it. Is there a difference in quality of the video and pictures if it's Class 4? I want to know if it's worth buying before I go get it.

  • Answer:

Different Classes determine the speed at which you can read and write to an SD card. Class 4 (4MB/s) is fairly normal. Class 6 (6MB/s) is faster but this will be reflected in the price. Class 2 cards are available but I wouldn't buy anything under Class 4. Not sure how you tell what card you have got if it is not labelled.
