How to connect my camera to my computer?

How do i connect my digital camera to my computer so i can see myself on the computer and take pics from there

  • i'm not sure how to connect my digital camera to my computer so that i can see myself on the computer, than take pictures of myself on the computer. sort of like a webcam. i connected my digital camera to the computer, and a dialog box popped out asking me if i wanted to upload my pics and stuff. but there was no option letting me use it like a webcam. what do i do?

    It would help if you gave us a camera make and model. Either way, most dedicated digital cameras don't have this option (it's called remote shooting/control by the way).

I don't think that you can use your digital camera as a webcam because in effect that is what you are trying to do. Webcams and digital cameras are two totally different operating systems. If you want to make your own videos then you should install a webcam and make videos from them. It is easy enough to do. And you can buy a decent webcam very cheaply these days.

That is because you can't use it as a webcam!! Digital cameras are not webcams or camcorders. Read the manual that came with the camera!!
