Can I use the same memory card for a new camera?

  • I have a silver Casio Exilim 5.0 mp . The lens is broken and want to buy a new one . Im gonna buy white Casio Exilim 7.2 mp . will it make a difference if i use the same memory card ?

Yeah you should be able to use the same memory card...Just look in the manuals and it should say what memory card does it use, hope this helps.

There is no reason why you can not use the same card, providing both cameras have the same card system, eg: Both are XD picture cards, or SD cards or CF cards and so on... As it stands both the 5Mp and the 7.2Mp are both Secure Digital (SD) cards so there is no problem, short of having a damaged card that is.

I don't see any problem in using the same card, but before you put the card in the new camera make sure you upload all images to your computer. Once that is done, put the memory card in your new camera and Format the card. Check your user manual on how to do this.

Your media card is compatible with any brand as long is it is the same type, SD, XD or CF for example. Though the amount of pics may change do to the a MP difference.

as long as there is nothing wrong with the card and the camera takes the same type - there is no reason not to be able to switch the card to the new camera.
