In your opinion what is the best DSLR camera?

the camera you mentioned is a bridge camera. Although it has manual controls, it is no DSLR. a DSLR has a photosensor 15x + the size of that camera, as well as the capability to change lenses. Bigger sensor= better quality pictures under $900, look at the Nikon D5100 and Canon Rebel T3i

Well below $900 will get you good DSLRs, so don't worry about getting something bad. All Digital SLRs today are great. Features aren't what make the camera. DSLRs have bigger sensors, less noise, faster focusing, better quality and better performance. You can control everything and change lenses. Nikon D3100 small camera is really good. Photo quality are excellent. from ISO 100 to ISO 3200. The guide mode is very good to set the camera to a particular situation. The camera feels very solid. The autofocus 11 points is fast with the ViewFinder You feels like a pro. The results are superior than the D5000 or D90 at 1600ISO and 3200 ISO The video mode is light. It is not a camcorder. But the video is good. The sound is mono but I knew that. I didn't buy it for the video mode.
