What's the difference between a 35mm camera and a 49mm camera?
-
I signed up for a photography class and I needed a 35mm camera. my friend lent me his camera but i just realized that it is a 49mm camera. Will i need a new camera? What's the difference?

Answer:
There is no such thing as a "49mm camera". Most likely that's the filter diameter required for the lens on your friend's camera. 35mm is the film size the camera uses.

I've never heard of 49mm camera's. You might need to go out and buy a cheap 35mm SLR camera which can be bought for as little as 150 used.

You are holding a 35mm film camera there with you. 49mm is just the filter size of the lens.
