Why does the video from my digital camera look dark on my computer?

So anyone that has a digital camera knows that you can either take a still picture or shoot in movie mode, so when I shot a short video on my digital camera it looked great in the preview screen on the camera but then when I downloaded it to my computer it opened up in windows media player and the colors were all dark ? I tried shooting movies on three different digital camera and all the videos look awful on the computer when it opened up on windows media player? what can I do?

Answer:
Two things. Adjust your monitor so it's more like it should be or in MM there's display adjustment as in brightness and contrast. Find those through "help".
