• I have security camera with IR/nightvision lens pointing from inside the window...to outside...and in the day time picture is great..but at night time...its glaring back and i cant see anything...how to fix it? i was thinking to put dark 3m film over the window? will that help or no? what can i do to fix this issue? 10 points best answer . help out plz

  Ok I have some questions By window do you mean the Polly carbonate that protects the camera our did you install them indoors and trying to look through the house window.? Is it a bullet camera or dome ? Fixed or varifocal lens Does it use auto IR or manual (should be manual for IR cameras but most often there auto) What distance are you trying to see? (most IR cameras are rated 3-5X more then they achieve they call it "IR projection" this has no correlation with what the camera actually sees.) Putting a filter over the camera will help a little at night but will ruin your images by day and good CCTV camera will have an ICR (IR cut filter) or MICF (movable IR cur filter) in both cases its filter that is used only when needed. you can use a filter that do not move with IR cameras. If you bought a really cheap IR camera from a non brand name you most likely wasted your money, Cheap IR cameras are standard cameras with $4 IR LED's on them, these cameras were not desinged to works with IR and they don't. A good IR camera are very complex and use special filters, optics, CCD, EPC and PCB that sync the camera with IR illumination for accurate illumination that eliminates over and under exposure. There are only about 3 companies I trust for IR cameras. Extreme CCTV, (Bosch) Peclo and Ascendent Technology Group. The Best is Ascendent but they are harder to find as there a smaller company but they do offer better products and are actually cheaper.
