I have an olympus fe-280 camera.....what happened to the screen?

im kind of freaking out because my digital camera like died. all it will do is turn on but i cant see a picture...only a black screen and like 4 lines coming daginol from one corner. its really scaring me because we called the company and they told me to send it back because we didnt buy the extended warenty (i got it for christmas...and im only 15 and not really that responsible) i dont know if its my fault or the camera went bad or something some one pleazzz help!!! i know im sounding kinda dramatic but my familys kinda low on money right now and that was the best thing i got for christmas and i love it!! soo if you know anything about cameras pleezzz help!
