Can anyone recommend good entry level DSLR camera that has video?

For under $700...under $600 would be nice. I'm not concerned about megapixels as much since I don't really plan to blow up pictures...

Answer:
I suggest looking at the Sony SLT A33 which has Sony's new Translucent Mirror Technology (TMT). This technology allows for full-time continuous auto focus whether you're shooting still pictures or 1080 HD video. TMT also allows shooting at 7fps (frames per second) as well as 2D or 3D Sweep Panorama. No current comparably-priced Nikon or Canon DSLR has any of those features. The Sony SLT A33 also can use all the legacy Minolta Maxxum AF lenses dating back to 1985 so you have access to a good selection of previously owned lenses. Since the SLT A33 has a focusing motor in the camera body a Maxxum AF 70-210mm f4 zoom will auto focus as it should. Sony also has their version of Image Stabilization in the camera body so that legacy 70-210mm zoom lens will be an IS lens. Only a Nikon D90, D7000 and above have a focusing motor in the camera body. Lower-level Nikons like the D3000, D3100, D5000 and D5100 do not - thus requiring that you buy the more expensive Nikon AF-S lenses if you want auto focus. (Example: Nikon AF 50mm f1.8 prime lens about $140.00; Nikon AF-S 50mm f1.8 prime lens about $220.00) Canon and Nikon have their versions of IS in some but not all of their lenses - and you get to pay for it again and again. Here is a review of the Sony SLT A33: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/AA33/AA33A.HTM You can find the SLT A33 for around $700.00 at http://www.bhphotovideo.com usually with free USA shipping.

The Nikon D3100 or canon Rebel T1i would be the way to go both have exactly what you want. Go check them out and see for yourself which one you like better. now, on to the live view. I do hope you are not going to use that instead of the actual viewfinder. The viewfinder is superior in pretty much every way.

The Canon T1i rates a little higher, but the Nikon has a cool swivel screen.. pointless I think, but fun for overhead shots
