Best Digital Camera to make Youtube videos that doesn't make a clicking noise?
-
I have started making youtube videos and they are doing very well. I started with a Canon ixus 230 HS but it makes a clicking noise in the backround which is not good. I have looked into other cameras and it looks like a lot of compact digital cameras make sound in the audio of the video. I would prefer a compact digital camera as it is more convenient and would fit in my pocket, SLR's are a bit big. It makes more sense for me to use a digital camera as it would be '2 in one' but I would get a camcorder if there isn't any good digital cameras. My budget for getting a digital camera would be up to £350 and for a camcorder would be £200 absolute maximum. It is really hard to find out if the camera makes a clicking noise as no review sites seem to write about it. I would prefer one that recently-ish came out and good overall camera. Many thanks, Jack

Answer:
I can't call myself experienced with compact cameras, but it sounds like what you're hearing is the autofocus of the camera adjusting to what the camera is seeing, even if there's very little movement in your frame. I would advise you to record sound separately, clap your hands once in front of the camera to help you sync your audio and video (instead of buying a clapperboard), and you're sorted. After all, why buy a new camera, when the one you have is great already? It'd be cheaper for you to get a good quality digital recorder for recording sound. It's going to give you much better audio quality than any onboard camera mics and you'll be sure to get rid of those clicks by going with this method, too.
