What digital camera has the features I am looking for?

What kind of features in a camera should i be looking for?

I'm extremely new to the photography hobby. I do not have a camera yet but i'm hoping to get one soon I'm interested in a Pentax if that helps at all I would be using the camera to take pictures of landscapes and just general nature pieces. It would NOT be a camera i would use to take pictures of friends in the bathroom... -.- What kind of features should i be looking for when i am looking at cameras? and do you have an recomandations? My price range is up to $600 thanks!

Although you can also use it to take pictures of you and your friends in the bathroom, the Pentax K-r with the 18-55mm kit lens would be great for landscape, portraits and most everything else. That is if you know photography and are able to control the dSLR beyond Auto mode. If not, get a Pentax Optio that fits your budget.
