How to use a digital cam as a web cam?

HI! I have a Nikon L14 digital cam and I want to know how to use it as web cam. Can someone give me the steps?

The L14 has too much resolution to be used as a webcam, it has an automatic shutoff feature to save the power in the batteries and if you could bypass it, the batteries would fail after less than one hour. A $25 webcam is powered by the computer and can be left on 24/7/365 if you want.
