What printer should I get?

What photo printer should I get to get good quality pictures for under $100?

  • I'm looking at these two: "Canon SELPHY™ CP720 Thermal Photo Printer" for about $50 "Canon Pixma MP250 Multifunction Printer 4800X1200DPI PHOTO/COPY/SCAN USB 2.0" for $40 The 1st one is an older thermal printer on ebay and the second is a new inkjet model. I know inkjet printers use a lot of ink which gets expensive. I don't know much about thermal printers. Which type produces better quality photos and costs less to operate in terms of ink and such. Or should I be looking at some other photo printer? Thanks

I have discovered that ordering prints online from a place like Clark or MPix is much more convenient. These places use high dollar professional printers and quality paper. After you pay for the paper and inks or toners you will have paid nearly as much for a fraction of the quality. Both of the places I mentioned are inexpensive but produce quality results.

I like Epson printers but you can find labs that make quality prints at some great prices. Below is a link to a lab that could be a good option. Hope this helps. Mark

I own and recommend a Pixma by Canon. It's a three way, copy - scan - print but yours doesn't have to be a 3 way. A simple Pixma printer will do an excellent job. I don't know about your budget though... it's a little low I think but perhaps they've come down in price. By the by, ink tanks for the Pixma are easily available at Staples.
