What is the best DSLR cameras for beginners?

  • I have a few sony cyber-shot cameras including the HX1 and HX100v, but I am looking for my first DSLR. Which camera would you recommend?

    I am a canon user..I like canon hand grip, nikon one is abit too small. depends on your budget. If you are on tight budget, go for the previous model 550D with kit lens. upgrade the lens when you are more experienced. if you have spare money, go for 600D. these are both great entry level camera. but nikon d3100 is not bad too and is cheaper, however, the grip is too small which I don't really recommend. Get the Nikon D3100. It's a great camera.

Actually there is NO beginners camera since they ALL work the same whether you spend $650 for a nice Nikon D3100 or $43,000 for a Hasselblad H4D Here is how both those cameras work. It has to do with learning to balance the ISO, shutter speed and lens aperture. http://camerasim.com/camera-simulator/ There are NO cameras with training wheels
