Answer:
It depends on the screen you view it on. But if you take a lot of pictures, I suggest taking them on 35mm film, then when you take the film in to get processed, get a picture CD done, as well as prints. The picture quality is waaay better on film, than digital.

You are viewing your pics on camera in highly condensed form...when on monitor, the pic is much bigger...therefore, the quality is beginning to show up...You do not say what megapix you are running at. And becareful about what kind of compression you are running if storing as Jpeg...the more compressed, the worse the pic. This may also have something to do with your monitor settings...if extremely bright and high contrast, this will wash out pics. Try printing a pic and see what happens...if it prints out correctly, your monitor settings (or monitor) have a problem...readjust if there is a monitor driver or monitor controls. Adjust until what you see on screen equals what the print looks like...then you will be set. IF prints are washed out, get a new camera, IF print is good and you cannot get monitor to equal prints, get a new monitor! Try to print from the program your camera came with or a good graphics program..make no corrections to pic when printing. IF the print is pale you can increase saturation, but if you have to increase saturation on every pic, you need a new and better camera. Good luck

It might look like they change but it could be that in the small view you see it is really crap (not your fault)

Try downloading a trial program (For example: Coral Photo Shop) and play with the lighting and effects, Save, upload =P
Mabye its the computer's fault, I dunno?

try getting a new program on your computer. or just edit them back to normal

It's probably your monitor. Depending on what sort of camera you have, when you upload it in jpeg format (assuming that's what it is) it could lose some quality.

same with mine, sometimes. luckily there's something called photoshop :)) but if you want something free photobucket has some editing stuff on there, you can make the pics brighter, or darker, whatever it'll take to make it look good.
