Why are the corners of my fisheye lens blurry?

Help please? Buying a fisheye lens?

  • Basically, I would like to buy a fisheye lens to attatch to my Nikon D40. I don't really need a super expensive one, or a super amazing quality one- just something I can use for fun, you know? I don't really want to go over £40. Also, it would be helpful if someone could give me some info on fisheye lenses- as you can probably tell, I'm no professional! (mainly, what's the difference between a semi-fisheye lens and a full fisheye. Can't you get a lens that does both?) Any more info you need from ME, just ask. =] Thanks! C.M.

Don`t know of any thing available in your price range for an slr nikon Trouble is lack of demand as they are specialist lenses made for scientific purposes & pro photographers & you would be looking a some £500 upwards There is however a fun lens available from Optica that could suit your purpose for around £40 If you have spent some £400 for a camera it seems a waste to get a cheap lens To much detail for here but suggest you google" Nikkor fisheye" & "Optica fisheye" for more info Best of luck

Well there's this one, but it doesn't look too good...http://www.amazon.co.uk/Opteka-Panoramic-Fisheye-Digital-Cameras/dp/B0017W70JE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1248895914&sr=8-1 Don't know how it works, doesn't look to sophisticated like the proper Nikkors and Sigmas, but a proper fisheye starts at £450 and goes up. There is also this lens, this is a M42 mount manual focus lens adaptable for most mounts, here its tested on Canon 350D - EF mount, but you should be able to get it adapted for Nikon F. http://www.photozone.de/canon-eos/254-peleng-8mm-f35-fisheye-converted-to-eos-mount-test-report--review?start=2 Unfortunately the I haven't a clue where you can get a Peleng from or how much it is, but it's much less expensive than one designed for the mount.

You can find some cheap camera lenses here. Type "opteka" into the search box and search. http://www.camera.digitaltraders.co.uk/Camera/Camera-Lenses
