Cool camera flash at the TV studio?

  • i was hanging out with my friend in the tv studio his parents work at and i saw this camera man useing a hand-held, wireless flash im a semi-pro photographer so when i see something like that, i say "HOLY SH*T THAT IS FREAKEN COOL!" and i also say to my self that theres no way i cant know about such a useful tool. does anyone know what thats called or where to find it on B&H i love the idea of having a portable flash like that so i could angle it how i want or put it further away (to reduce the amount of light) wile keeping the camera on automatic mode. by the way, does anyone know how to make it so that auto-mode on the canon 30D dosent come so bright and over exposed? i do allot of (local) sports so i dont always have the chance to change the shutter speed

I got several thousand hits. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=wireless+flash&N=0&InitialSearch=yes If auto-mode is getting overexposed shots, you must be focusing on something dark. Experiment with the various exposure modes (centered, general, etc.).
