Panasonic Lumix G3 color rendering!? help? confused?

  • ok. so i have a lumix G3. here is the issue. whenever i take pics, they always look nice from the camera. but when i put them into my computer, i notice that the coloring on all the photos have been lossed, becoming very dull and gray. at first, i thought "well, maybe its just me". but just now, when i uploaded one pic i had taken of a friend that i had been anxious to upload, but once i saw it on my computer, it was gray and bland and ugly. i was confused... "maybe i had remembered incorrectly". so, i plug the card back in the camera, the picture was bright, and the color was very saturated and beatiful. then back into the computer, again... the picture was dull and still gray. what is going on, man?!?! (im not talking little difference, im talking a HUGE color difference) i dont remember this issue from my last canon xsi. i dont know what is going on. but now for every picture i have to go through some crazy photoshop to try to fix it. is it just me?? or is it all panasonic G cameras? note:i only shoot jpegs. but, that cannot be the major issue for my problem. any answers? anybody?! this is killing me.

  • Answer:

Transfer the picture using Windows Explorer or Finder then open with the basic Paint program in your computer. http://keerok-photography.blogspot.com/2011/09/detailed-instructions-on-how-to.html If it worked, the procedure you were using previously was altering the pictures as they got copied. It can be fixed by diving into the Setup or Options menu of that faulty program. If everything is still wrong, the only thing I can think of is a busted memory card. Try another card but format first before shooting. I was considering the LCD of your camera is not depicting an accurate picture of the shot you took but all digital cameras are like that. It's just that the discrepancy seems to be so huge which isn't normal. If all else fails, try another computer. Do everything manually. Do not install anything from the camera's companion CD. You can even go as far as bringing the camera and card to a digital photo printing shop and see what happens when they open the picture there.
