What digital camera is best for under $300 - water & shock resistance, good pics in low light & action shots?

    Olympus seems to make the most of these in their "SW" series cameras. There is a new Pentax W60 (and older W20 and W30) that is designed to be dipped into the pool you may also want to look at, especially if you already have some SD memory cards (Olympus uses the xD memory card)

Check out the Olympus Stylus 850SW. Waterproof to 10', shockproof to a 5' drop. Don't expect any digicam to perform well in low-light. Even with the flash your results may be disappointing. Using the highest ISO on the camera will likely result in excessive digital noise which can be helped by Noise Ninja or a similar program - but don't plan on making large prints.

Olympus Stylus 790 SW up to 10 feet underwater waterproof, shock proof, crush proof (up to 250 lbs), freeze proof, an overal great camara! I got mine at Best Buy for about $280 (including tax!), but you still have to get an XD memory card (if you dont own one already). They come in a wide variety of colors (mine is orange), and as long as you put the RIGHT SETTING on, it can take great pictures in dim light (with or without flash!), moving motions, bright lights, etc. I highly reccomend it!!!
