What is the best DSLR camera for a beginner?

What DSLR camera is best for a beginner on a budget?

  • I want to get a nice DSLR camera thats around $800 with 1 or 2 lenses in that price. I would like to be able to use the lenses if I want to upgrade later. It would be nice to have image stabilization AND autofocus as well. I would like a fast startup. I'd also want to be able to constantly take pictures with no lag (i think thats fast shutter speed). I would also like at least 6 megapixels. I hope this is possible for this price. I've checked the Nikon D40 which has autofocus, but no image stabilization. I also checked the Sony Alpha A200, it has image stabilization, but no autofocus. Im stuck -_- Oh and links to trustworthy websites with cheap prices would be appreciated ^_^

i dont really like the d40. i like the d80 though, or the d200. but they cost more. i think a good beginners camera would be the canon rebel xti. check out circuitcity.com or bestbuy.com
