How do I get spots that are inside my camera lens out?

What's the blue coating on a camera lens? Is it possible to get a similar coating on an uncoated lens?

• Well, my camera had a blue-whatever coated protection glass over the main lens, but i damaged it. The pictures were very bad after the damage, and I finally pried open my camera myself and using some DIY, replaced the scratched acrylic protection lens with a better, glass lens. The Picture quality improved, sure, but it's still not as great as it used to be in the beginning - so I figure it's something to do with the blue coating. Any help in this regard will be appreciated, and please, serious replies only.

  DO NOT CLEAN THE COATING. The coating is designed to prevent flares from appearing on the image. In your camera there are typically multiple pieces of glass that make up a lens system. The coating prevents reflections from appearing on the end picture. The other possibility is that you have some kind of a filter over the lens. If its a filter you should be able to remove it. I hope this is an SLR and not a point and shoot (if you cant remove it). If its a point and shoot, you might need a new camera, if its a DSL you'll probably need a new lens.
