Can you make a digital camera into a webcam?

i want to do a video conversation with all my friends but i dont have one of those cool round webcam thingies. but i have a digital camera, that can be hooked on to the computer through USB, called a Sony Powershot. can i turn the camera into a webcam somehow? this sounds kinda sensible to me.

There are ways of doing it but, it's not the best thing to do to a digital still camera. Here's a link to a forum post explaining it a little bit: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=135197 If you really want a webcam, just go buy a cheap one and save the wear and tear on your other camera.
