What kind of zoom should a good camera have?

Which kind of zoom on a digital camera is better to have? Digital or Optical?

    It is great to get both high digital and optical zoom. But as others have said Optical Zoom is better. I have seen and owned a few cameras with a high digital zoom and low optical zoom and the pictures or video does come out blurry or pixilated. On the other hand with cameras with higher Optical Zoom the zoomed in image is much more clear. Makes for a better picture. In short a camera with a: Higher Optical Zoom/Lower Digital Zoom = Better, Clearer, smoother, Picture Higher Digital Zoom/Lower Optical Zoom = Can look Blurry or Pixilated, cool if you like looking at a collage of squares! :)

Optical. Better quality. Camera actually takes a pic farther away, as opposed to digital that just zooms into the center of the current pic.

Optical. Digital is just auto cropping. If you can edit photos on your pc, you already have "digital zoom".

Optical. Digital zoom doesn't actually do anything. It's the same as zooming in on a picture once you have it on your computer. It doesn't improve the quality, it just makes that section bigger.
