Camera memory card?

My fujifilm camera wont read my SD(HC) memory card- please help?!?

• i got this camera (Fujimfilm - Finepix J32) for my birthday in february and i also bought a 4gb memory card (SD - HC) and the store said that memory card was fine.. and since then its been fine, ive been able to load my pictures onto the computer easily and look at them. but yesterday when i went to look at my camera i think one of my friends took the card out i put it back in, turned it on and it said card error and wont allow me to look at my pictures.. i have checked its not locked and it isnt. and to check it wasnt the memory card we put the memory card in my friends camera and it worked perfectly fine and we put her memory card in mine and it worked so both are working fine. but my camera is refusing to pick the memory card up? and the store keeper said that this memory card was compatible and fine for this camera. please help, has any one else had this problem, bearing in mind it has worked for months perfectly, i need the camera ASAP and cant afford a new card.. any additional details needed just ask and ill add them on. thankyou! xx

  SD HC cards are notorious for failing with no warning what ever. I'd say that's what's happened here. Try another, new, card. If that doesn't work perhaps it's the camera but I doubt that very much. The card is probably corrupt and needs to be replaced. Also, if that's the case, your photos on that card are gone. Another suggestion. We see horror stories here all the time about people who seem to think these cards can do anything a computer can do and that's simply not true - as in storage and display. If you've been using your camera / card as a storage and display device that's probably what killed it. Don't do that or you're going to end up buying lots of cards because they'll keep failing. The work flow should be: shoot - upload - format the card in the camera before you shoot again. Good Luck
