Which point and shoot camera takes good indoor pictures?

Looking for a digital camera, less than $250, great for taking pictures of PEOPLE??

  • Hi - I want to buy a digital camera. I want one that's less than $300 INCLUDING tax (I live in Canada) and necessary add-ons (ie. batteries/charger/bigger memory card). I also want one with a big display screen. My biggest want, however, is a camera that takes amazing shots of people (particularly me, lol). My current camera is just horrible (3.5 mp, about 5 years old) and the pictures it takes of me.... well, let's just say I KNOW i'm not that ugly, lol. Mainly, I want a point and shoot camera that will make me and everyone else look as good as possible. Pictures in pubs/clubs/restaurants/outside/inside/fu… sun/no sun etc. I'm really pale, so in most pictures I look like a big white circle (although my face is neither flat, fat, spherical or featureless in REAL life!) and I always always always get red eye/look super shiny. So I guess - anyone got any suggestions for a camera that takes great people pictures?

  • Answer:

I have a Canon PowerShot digital camera, which I like but I feel is overpriced. I bought my sister-in-law a Casio Elixim zoom last year for her birthday and it takes REALLY good pictures. You know how some digital cameras will wash out people's faces if you're too close? Well, her camera has a soft flash option which makes the pictures look really natural and not washed out or too bright. It's compact and easy to use, too. I bought hers in 2006 for $199 and if you were really savvy about watching sales in your area, you could probably find it for the same price. However, I found it on BestBuy.com for $159. Great deal!! Here's the link! Good luck! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8477178&st=casio+elixim&type=product&id=1186008206364

Nikon coolpix or a Canon Power Shot are a good choice, and you can go to best buy, future shop, or even walmart and get them for $249 to $269 +tax. Some for less depending on the mp you choose. These ones are around 8 mp and have the option to prevent red eye, I'm pale to and I know what you mean! They have all of the features for indoor/outdoor, portraits etc..... They are great point and shoot cameras and small too! Just make sure you learn how and when to use all of the right functions and you will get great pics.

The Sony DSC-W80 has face detection so it can tell if there is a person in the picture and, well, makes it look like it's a person in the picture. It's a really great camera and I enjoy mine very much! 7.2 megapixels...

you could always go to best buy or any other electronic store. there is probably a cheap camera. and theres ebay! but i would make surethe seller lives nearby so if you go to pick it up, you dont have to pay for shipping and you can give it back if its in bad condition

uhm try kodak, target, best buy, and other places that sell camera things... i bought my camera at best buy and its a kodak. i really dont like it. i miss my old camera. it was a canon. but the canon was 300$ and the kodak was 140$ so i guess it depends on how much ur willing to sell

You can sometimes get rid of the red eye in the computer software. Go shopping and try them in the store is the very best option so you're satisfied on how to use it etc. Look for the highest pixel rate you can afford and with a good zoom feature.

There are several ideas: 1. Get a camera with a large sensor like the Fujifilm Finepix F10 so you can take pictures without a flash. It's the flash making you look washed out. 2. Get a camera with red eye reduction. 3. Learn to use your camera better so the pictures come out better. If your face is being washed out by the flash, you probably just need to have the picture taken from farther away.
