Can I track my mobile GPS on a PC?

Looking for a hand held GPS which only needs to display coordinates and work world-wide?

• I am starting to get into Geo-tagging my pictures and would like to continue. Right now my process is sort of crude due to the fact that I only give the general area of where I might have taken the picture. I am looking for information and suggestions on two things. 1) should I purchase an inexpensive hand held GPS unit which works world-wide and would only needs to display coordinates so that I could tag my pics with those coordinates. or should I buy a gps unit which has the possibility of tracking and then upload the pics and track file to my pc, or just buy a GPS data logger and do it like that. 2) do you know of any inexpensive hardware for my project. the most important things are- worldwide and some how keep track of coordinates so that I can link them to the picture

  Any handheld model - the cheapest ones will work worldwide and give you the coordinates of where you are. You can probably easily purchase one for $50 now that will do what you want to do. Actually there are not too many cameras out there that will support GeoTagging your images and most of what you may have seen online has been tagged by hand. Nikkon sells a model of camera that fully supports automated geotagging but it is still really expensive at this time. The GPS system is a worldwide free system that was developed by the USA Defense Department but was later on turned over to public hands.
