Corvette, Porsche Cayman, or Honda S2000?
-
I am thinking about buying my first sports car two to three years from now. What would be the best choice of the three? I like the S2000 because it's the most affordable and will probably be the most reliable. Plus, it's in its last production year and is destined to be a classic. But I always loved the sounds of a Corvette, and the Cayman is just so beautiful. How is the reliability and maintenance of the other two? I'm not concerned about cargo space, gas mileage, technological gadgets, etc.. Is Porsche really that expensive to maintain? Thanks.

how much money do you have. for the german beast prepare to pony up 60k. unlike what you think the s2000 is not going to be a classic. it is a generic car like the mazada miata. the nissan z cars are more of a classic. the corvette has some nice touches from the past in it(rear glass, waterfall center console) and the porsce is well..........a porsche. the nice part about the corvette is that it makes a ton of power and there are so many parts in the aftermarket. plus it has a good look to it. as far as the porsche it is absurd to maintain. talked with a friend who works for fred baker porsche in cleveland ohio and a brake job done right on a porsche will run you about a grand. god forbid you need something more than that. and you really should take it to a dealer to work on it. the honda is going to be the worst performance of any. plus it just looks generic. the porsce has beautiful lines, has a company with a winning racing heritage. the only problem is if you are bigger than a average size person they will be very uncomfortable for you. but check out the nissan 350z or 370z. really cool car.

Two or three years from now, the Corvette will still be the better car in all aspects of importance. The rest are mere contenders.

The LS3 in the 'vette is VERY reliable. I'm not sure the S2000 will ever be a classic. It's a cool little car but it's not fast at all, handles decent though. I'm biased, I'm a C5 owner and would LOVE to jump into a C6. Go test drive all 3 and see what you like the best. The C6 is just an amazing machine, especially for the price.

forget them all, and get a buggatti veyron. 1000 horsepower. topspeed 252 miles per hour. 10 radiators. 1 to 1.5 million dollars to buy. around 5 million dollars to make. yes, they lose money with each one. they built them to prove it could be done. best car ever!!!!!!1
