Manual for a rover 75 v6?

Rover 75 2.0 v6 (2000 model)?

  • Hello everyone i have just bought a Rover 75 2.0 v6, what a smashing car. As i am new to the v6 engine that rover have used on this model i am awear that the vehicle has a couple of slight issues. I have noticed that the clutch is pedal is very high, as the biting point is rather high. I'v been told that the clutch might be on its way out as the car has only done 54k. Not only that it also has a slight rattle on idle when you rev the engine the rattle goes it seems to be coming from the lower back end of the timing belt cover side any ideas and advice help guys?? thank you....

  • Answer:

if you keep it ,it will eventually bankrupt you they are lemons ,two timing belts one at each end at a cost of £1000 to change and it sounds like the idler pulley bearings are shot so its going to cost you Straight away i won`t go on i have depressed you enough but you get my drift

I bought one too! if only i had known then what i know now.Sell it on mate before it needs any major repair, they feel silky smooth and sound nice but they really are notorious for big breakdowns, crock of spanners the v6.Mine had only done 46k when it did the head gasket on one side and the heads don't take to skimming,it worked out cheaper changing the engine from a breakers yard than repairing the original, still cost £1500.I got shut as soon as it was running again.

Take it back or sell it on - you bought a pear...did you not test drive it?
