What song is in the Pontiac Vibe commercial?

Why do some prefer the Pontiac Vibe over the Toyota Matrix?

  • I understand that the Pontiac Vibe and the Toyota Matrix are similar cars, but why do some prefer the Pontiac Vibe, since it's an American car, and less reliable?

  • Answer:

Some just don't CARE about anything but what a car LOOKS like when they buy. These people usually change cars every year or two, and don't concern themselves with petty things like interest rates, reliability records, price etc.

they are not similar, they are the same car. same toyota motor, transmission, suspension, chassis and drivetrain. both are made in toyota plants, although one is built at the toyota plant in california and the other in ontario. less reliable? actually for every year since they split the production the vibe has received higher marks from the CR and JDP than the matrix received... although both are the top wagon sold in the US. as for why some people prefer the vibe to the matrix, looks better, cheaper. you can get the same car for about 3K less buying it from GM b/c they offer better discounts than toyota does. actually, the only way the matrix sells is because some uninformed people think that b/c one is american and the other 'japanese' the toyota is more reliable. one last thing. the twins were drawn by a gm designer so gm got first choice on the designs. gm chose the vibe, toyota was stuck with the matrix. how preferable is the vibe to the matrix? overseas, where they are not direct competitors, toyota sells the vibe as the matrix instead of the actual matrix.

hello

They are the same cars Same engine, transmission, chassis, suspension. Same reliability abd gas mileage and HP. Pontiac makes the Toyota Matrix for Toyota or vice versa. The Pontiac Vibe looks better. Sportier looks.

-it's basically the same in terms of reliability. It's assembled in America with mostly Japanese-made parts. Most of the "Japanese" cars you buy in the US (Camry, Accord, etc) are actually built in the US by Americans. America is perfectly capable of building things well, it's just that Japanese companies employ better engineers. -its sticker price is lower than for a similarly equipped Matrix, and GM often has incentives and whatnot to try to move their cars.

Some people my prefer it because buying a Pontiac means supporting GM. Toyota Motor Co. uses awful labor practices on their automobiles. To read about the labor practices, go to www.google.com and type in "The Toyota You Don't Know." Click on the first thing and read all about it.
