  • hybrids included...and what is the gas mileage

  • Answer:

Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra hybrid get the best fuel economy, they are the only hybrid pickups. 6.0L V8, 332hp/367 lb.-ft In terms of regular non-hybrid pickups, Chevrolet/GMC/Ford are tied for tops with 21 highway/15 city, however, Chevrolet/GMC can do it with a larger much more powerful engine than Ford does. 4.6L V8, 292hp/320 lb.-ft for Ford F150 5.3L V8, 315hp/335 lb.-ft for Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra. All figures are 2wd models, 4wd usually lowers by 1-2mpg.

Wow.... Ok you dont go by the truck itself but what its got under the hood. Engine size (bigger means less mpg) Transmission - the most important factor in mpg. The more gears the better mpg and less strain. Because theres so many versions of trucks its not just one single truck it would be dumb just to go by name. The best mpg for me would be the toyota tundra 5.7l with the six speed tranny. Or a dodge 2500 straight 6 diesel with 6 speed tranny. But rember thats if your going to tow. If you just want a truck to cruise around in and rarely ever use it for towing your better off getting the v6 and a midsized truck.
