What is the best car in the world?

You mean Best Sports cars? The Corvette ZR1 is the best American car ever made in my opinion. The STI and Veyron are also great. But according to all the car magazines that tested it, my favorite car, the Porsche Cayman S is known as "the worlds best sports car." as said in many car magazines.

best completely matters on what your using the vehicle for and what you think is important. If you think safety and being good on gas is important, than all of those cars are pretty terrible. If you think going fast while being street legal, you could put an OK argument together for some of those. Defining a "best car" really isnt possible for more than an individual though.

You ask several questions here. For the best car it has to be either the Ford Model T or the VW bug. The American Austin Bantam was a winner too, but it like the Crosley never caught on that great. No doubt the early CJ Jeeps belong on the list as well. As far as speed demons, I prefer the Stutz and early Bugatti's, however I would much prefer a Morgan +8 (not the Aero). For beauty the 57 Thunderbird and 58 Vett have to be on a list of the best designed cars ever built. The 68 Dodge products were some of the better ones too. But for practical every day use, mixed with grace in design I will have to say the 62 thru 63 Fairlanes are tops on my list. My favorite car is the 89 SHO followed closely by a 90 Miata. Oh yes, the MG's from the 50's to the early 70's are right up there too.

what do you mean by best? Best at what? Handling, power, MPG, passenger room, Comfort, style, See too many variables to consider.
