Rattling noise from front end(i think) of 2005 silverado?
-
My 2005 silverado is a 4x4, 4.8 v8, with about 115000 miles on it. The noise is not in first gear or neutral but 2nd and up it rattles at high rpm. Ive heard that people have problems with the cats but thats typically at low speeds. Please help

Answer:
There are far too many parts under the hood to even guess what the rattle could be. However, I have seen cases where the heater hoses came into contact with the upper intake cover (or sight shield). The vibration from the engine would be transmitted into the cab through the hoses. If you can duplicate the noise by revving the engine while the truck is stopped then have a friend poke around under the hood until the noise goes away and that will be the source of the rattle.
