Alfa Romeo 2000?

Alfa Romeo or Rover, are they a good car? Need help urgently?

  • I am currently looking to buy a second hand car and have been looking at the Alfa Romeo T Spark and also a Rover 25. But I have heard some bad things about both. Alot of people say to stay away from the Alfa Romeo as they are made by Fiat and dont have a good reputation, is this true and would this be a good buy?? With the Rover I have been told that Rover are no longer in Ireland and that it would be hard to get parts for it, is this true and would it be a good buy? Please help me out, as I am totally confused and I dont want to be buying someone elses troubles when there is nothing mechanical wrong with my own car.

    If i were you i would avoid both! If there is nothing wrong with your car just now and you like it, then stick with it. What car have you got just now?

Forget the Alfa, when they start to give trouble you will be spending a LOT of money. The TS was not a good model either!

rover is extinct - where are you going to get the parts from? alfas are not that good either there are many more brands out there why tie yourself down? i have had two Peugeot's - my dad has had about 7 only 1 was a bit dodgy all the others have performed without fail - my last one has 185thousand miles on the lock and has never broken down or left me stranded the only big bill was for a new clutch at 110k and i tow a heavy caravan about 2.5k a year!

Alfa romeos are crap. Get the rover. I had a Alfa 167 and it was brilliant the first year. By the second things started going wrong with the motor. I ended up selling it for a really low price and getting a ford focus. They are brilliant. I love my ford. Get ford. Anyway, good luck in your car hunting,
