Which SUV preforms better and last longer Hyundai santa fe or Jeep liberty?

Hyundai santa fe or Jeep liberty between 2002-2006. There has been a large debate within my family since i prefer Hyundai santa fe. Because Hyundai santa fe is Asian made my own father has put it down as crap, and prefers American made. I on the othr hand think Hyundai santa fe is worth it but would like some outside advice to which one is better.

I wouldn't buy anything Jeep, not after I've seen how quickly Jeep Grand Cherokees wear down and fall apart. Asian made cars (Toyota, Honda, Hyundai) actually have reputations for lasting a long long time. So easy choice! PS- I see your dad's point, it is good to support American made items. But the way I see it, if they can't make something as good, then that's what they get. Chevy, Ford, Jeep...imo all average. There are MUCH better car makers out there. Too bad for them they make low-quality crap, that's all I can say.

Hyundai is the better car, they went from a so so brand to one with top notch quality. In one European survey they came in at #1 place in quality and reliability. The jeep is a very poorly made vehicle. Brand recognition is all they have.
